Benjamin {Mechanicsville,VA High School Senior Photographer}

October is busy, busy, busy! No complaints, I'm just observing. I had the pleasure of photographing Benjamin's senior portraits. All of these were taken on his family's property and we had no shortage of locations, just dwindling sunlight. We raced around as fast as possible and got some fantastic images. Benjamin was just so easy and relaxed, he really made my job a breeze.

Matt + Jocy {West Virginia Family Photographer}

A perfect, beautiful day in the mountains of West Virginia. Great time of day, willing(ish) participants for family photos. Portrait sabotage. There's one in every group. Cough, Matt, cough cough.

Happy Friday

Baby Luke {Mechanicsville, VA Newborn Photographer}

I photographed Kate + Drew's engagement, wedding, and first anniversary pictures. I got to see them pretty consistently for three years while photographing their friend's weddings (that Kate referred to me because she's wonderful). We did their maternity portraits at Belle Isle, and I've been waiting very impatiently for Luke to make his debut. Now that he is two weeks old, I finally got him in front of my camera. He is such a cutie! And as is becoming a trend with all the newborns I've photographed recently, Luke was not sleepy. We waited and pleaded with him, he was fed again and finally fell asleep. We have some pretty great portraits of this darling baby boy.

Katie {Richmond, VA High School Senior Photographer}

For the first round of Katie's senior portraits, we went to Byrd Park in downtown Richmond. We were stuck in the middle of a goose stampede and she stuck it out with a smile on her face. I can't wait for round two.

Session Interruption...

During a high school senior session this weekend, we had some uninvited guests begging for attention.

Baby Dixon {Richmond, VA Newborn Photographer}

After taking his parents' photos, I knew this handsome guy would be photogenic. And I was right. Typically, brand new babies are super sleepy and nap during the whole session. This little man would not fall asleep!

Baby Vuiller is due in February and I can not wait to meet him! We'll be updating with Jocy's growing baby belly until then.

The Stephens Family {Williamsburg, VA Family Photographer}

John is in the military. John surprised Wendy with a quick trip home. One weekend only. Wendy scheduled a Saturday morning session, where we'd be walking around the beautiful William&Mary campus. Saturday morning was miserable. Rainy and grey and terrible. We decided we would try in the afternoon. 4:30 rolls around, still grey and a ton of traffic (of both the car and foot variety). It just so happens there was a W&M football game and it was parents' weekend. Absolutely horrible shooting conditions. Sunday morning however, was just perfect. Blue sky, pretty light, and no one else awake at 9 a.m., which I'm sure we can thank the football game for.
Also, John and Wendy made an adorable kid. Riley took all of 30 seconds to warm up to the camera. I'm so thankful and happy that despite the rough start to the weekend that everything worked out and we were able to get family portraits done while John was still home.
